                         Loved by the Indians and celebrated by the world, India’s ‘King Khan,’ ‘Baadshah’ and ‘sab ke dilo ki dhadkan’, Shah Rukh Khan is a man of struggle, sadness, charm, passion, success and countless dreams. With a net worth of US$600 million and a global fan following in billions, he is literally the biggest star of Indian Cinema.

        What His Life Says About Him

                     Infinitesimal, everyday failures affects us all. Failure wasn’t just his companion during or before his stardom, it is still a substantial part of his life. SRK considers Kolkata Knight Riders and Ra-One to be examples of failure and he proudly accepts them, because according to him failure teaches him a lot. A boy from a middle class family whose parents did not have enough money to take him to the movies has become “King Khan”. Shah Rukh khan, who has seen endless struggles in his life – he has slept on streets, struggled to support himself and his sister at a very young age. He even lost his parents very early which led to his sister seeking mental health support. Amidst all the chaos and challenges, he kept pushing himself, and today he stands tall as the ‘Badshah of Bollywood’. Certainly those years weren’t easy for him. Success doesn’t come easy, what made him a star was his acceptance of failure and the urge to improve.

His Early Days And Lessons

                 He not only saw failure but poverty too, especially after his parents’ demise. He vocally admits that he took on less creative work to overcome poverty. Some of the films which he accepted were rejected by big stars, but he took them on to avoid unemployment. Shah Rukh strongly believes that failure is a part of life, he believes that the true road to success is not just the desire for success but fear of failure and that if you don’t enjoy and be scared of your failure you will never succeed.

             “ According to him, one needs to pass through some stages of failure in order to succeed. We might whimper about a successful superstar and his genuine tussle with failure. We believe that only a person who has been through adversity has all the rights to voice it out.He believes it’s not the absence of failure that makes one successful, but it’s one response to it”,  (AIMA speech, 2014).  

                               Which is actually so real for e.g. If we keep on thinking that nothing can be done, or ask why did it happen to me? Then surely we are falling into the trap of failure, while on the other hand if we learn from our failure, and accept it as a part of life and move on, we become strong individuals. We chase success and we want to live successful lives. 

             “Here is another take on success from SRK: “Success is not a good teacher, failure makes you humble”. Success makes us fly while failures remind us that “Dust thou art, to dust returnest” 

What Can We Take From This?

              Some stories just amaze us, and his story of struggle and then beating depression is definitely an inspired one. Failure, struggles, depression are just phases of life and it’s all about your attitude towards them and this belief has kept him going. Failure is a great teacher if you do not fail you will never learn and if you do not learn you will never grow.

         He was successful in beating his depression through his skills i.e. acting in movies and working on what he likes. To add to this, he has a supporting family behind him. What also keeps him going is his self-motivation and his acceptance towards failure, because he truly believes 

             -“Success and failure are both part of life. Both are not permanent”. While he believes in failure, on the other hand, he deeply has faith in hard work as he once stated ,

          1.Justice or Rectitude:

                   Justice, is the strongest virtue of Bushido. Rectitude is the bone that gives firmness and stature. Without bones the head cannot rest on top of the spine, nor hands move nor feet stand. So without Rectitude neither talent nor learning can make the human frame into a samurai.

         2.Courage:

                     Bushido distinguishes between bravery and courage: Courage is worthy of being counted among virtues only if it’s exercised in the cause of Righteousness and Rectitude. In his Analects, Confucius says: ‘Perceiving what is right and doing it not reveals a lack of Courage.’ In short, ‘Courage is doing what is right.’

         3. Benevolence or Mercy:

                   A man invested with the power to command and the power to kill was expected to demonstrate equally extraordinary powers of benevolence and mercy.

           4. Politeness:

                    Courtesy and good manners have been noticed by every foreign tourist as distinctive Japanese traits. But Politeness should be the expression of a benevolent regard for the feelings of others

           5.  Honesty and Sincerity:

              True samurai,  disdained money, believing that “men must grudge money, for riches hinder wisdom.

            

          6. Honor:

                 The sense of Honor, a vivid consciousness of personal dignity and worth, characterized the samurai. He was born and bred to value the duties and privileges of his profession. Fear of disgrace hung like a sword over the head of every samurai …

           7. Loyalty:

                    Loyalty to a superior was the most distinctive virtue of the feudal era. Personal fidelity exists among all sorts of men: a gang of pickpockets swears allegiance to its leader

            8. Character and Self-Control:

                        Bushido teaches that men should behave according to an absolute moral standard, one that transcends logic. What’s right is right, and what’s wrong is wrong. The difference between good and bad and between right and wrong are givens, not arguments subject to discussion or justification, and a man should know the difference.

             Finally, it is a man’s obligation to teach his children moral standards through the model of his own behavior.

Ferruccio Lamborghini, born in 1916, served as a mechanic during the WWII and started to build tractors soon after the war had ended. His tractor company became one of the largest agricultural equipment manufacturers in Italy, so Ferruccio Lamborghini could afford himself dozens of luxury cars such as a Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, and Alfa Romeo. He also decided to purchase several Ferraris and this is where the success story of the Lamborghini begins and started to evolve to one of the most successful luxury car manufacturers in the world.

                             When Ferruccio Lamborghini bought a brand new Ferrari he considered it to be more a repurposed track car than a regular road car, as the Ferrari was too noisy and rough to handle. Lamborghini was fond of the Ferrari but was not completely satisfied with it, so he decided to make several suggestions to Enzo Ferrari (founder of Ferrari) including design changes that could help him to improve his luxurious Ferraris.
                          It is reported that Enzo Ferrari´s response to Lamborghini´s suggestions was not positive at all, as he only told Lamborghini that he had more knowledge in tractors than sports cars. Ferrari didn´t take Lamborghini´s suggestions seriously. Ferraris comment encouraged Lamborghini to prove him wrong. Lamborghini decided to pursue his vision of a perfect sports car, encouraged by Ferrari´s unwillingness to consider his suggestions.

In 1964 Lamborghini manufactured the first versions of the Lamborghini 350 GT, which exceeded the performance of a Ferrari considerably. Since 1966 all Lamborghini´s were named after famous Spanish bull-fight breeding, such as Murciélago and Gallardo, with the only exception of the Lamborghini Countach. The name Countach was chosen after an employee said out loud “countach” when he first saw the car, which is a local dialect expression in the Italian language for “amazing” or “stunning”

                         

Ferruccio Lamborghini has shown us how incredible successful you can become in life and what kind of a mythos you can establish only by facing a problem in his daily life, a vision that evolved out of this problem and a competitor that truly spurred Lamborghini.
